Renting an Alamo hire car to pick up in Idaho is hassle-free, and you have the opportunity to select a model to meet you and your family or party's needs. It is the most convenient and economical way to travel while you are enjoying your holiday.
Idaho is real pioneer land, with rugged mountains and truly vast wilderness in the north, with a lot of its own home-grown culture (more sophisticated than it sounds) and many attractions tucked into the populated areas in the rolling countryside and town of the south. The splendid scenery is a great backdrop to hiking and mountain biking trips, and if you love to camp, there are lots of opportunities for backpacking and white water rafting.
A couple of real gems in the Gem State are the little ski resort of Sun Valley, and the city of Boise. If you're an active, go-getter type, you can enjoy frenzied skiing all day, followed by hot spas, fine dining and luxury rooms at the hotels in Sun Valley. Alternatively, if you prefer to take in the arts, see live theatre or music, or just soak in the atmosphere of a similar-but-different culture to your own, Boise is a hip city to spend some time in, and the food and entertainment can rival that of much larger, better known places.
Idaho isn't a compact holiday where every attraction is within walking distance. Quite the opposite, in fact, so you'll find on arrival that you'll be better off with your own set of wheels. This way you get to see a greater diversity of the landscape, the people and the overall tourism offer of this state. In a way, it's the diversity of Idaho that gives it a big appeal.
The most populated areas are in the south, where the land is much more appealing for development as well as farming, but it has some very high-quality mountain villages and towns in the north, if you're more interested in an active holiday, and accommodation is good value and very easy to find if you're not already booked somewhere.
You can easily pick up a hire car- and for this particular state, it may be a good idea to choose an SUV - at either Idaho Falls Regional Airport, or Boise Airport for convenience, and with your hire vehicle, you can take the time to really see the state in its entirety; mountains for a couple of days, perhaps a walk through the volcanic area known as the Craters of the Moon park and then head back towards civilisation to catch a show or just to check out the nightlife.
