No need to visit the counter or kiosk. You can go straight to your car!

Renting an Alamo hire car to pick up in San Jose is hassle-free, and you have the opportunity to select a model to meet you and your family or party's needs. It is the most convenient and economical way to travel while you are enjoying your holiday.
The Golden State's first ever Spanish civilian settlement, San Jose, was founded back in 1777 with the rather grander original name of El Pueblo de San José de Guadalupe. It may be the biggest city in Silicon Valley, but its modestly-sized downtown area is surprisingly quiet during the week, although it bursts vibrantly to life on the weekends, when young clubbers flock there in search of fun and recreation.
Visitors to the city should waste no time in arranging a hire car if they want to get the best out of their stay. Having your own set of wheels grants you the freedom you need to enjoy what the city has to offer in your own way, at your own pace. And a great way to begin your explorations is to pay a visit to the quirky but utterly fascinating Egyptian Museum in Rosicrucian Park, complete with reproduction subterranean tomb, Egyptian statues and, of course, mummies.
Put your Alamo hire car to work with a visit to History Park, an outdoor, alfresco museum featuring historic buildings transposed from elsewhere in the city. There's a replica of the 1881 Electrical Light Tower, which became an historic San Jose landmark (even though it completely failed in its original mission to provide the whole city with electrical street lights), as well as majestic reconstructions of the old Pacific Hotel, a Chinese temple, and numerous historic houses.
Given that you're in Silicon Valley, your visit to San Jose won't be complete without taking in at least some of the tech scene for which the area has been world famous since the 1970s. If you think that museums can be rather dry and austere places, think again. The Tech Museum of Innovation is a real bobby-dazzler, crammed full of enthralling gadgets and exploring everything from space technology to microchips, robotics to genetics. There's also a spectacular high-resolution IMAX dome theatre that screens fascinating and informative films throughout the day.
If you've got kids to entertain during your stay, get the best out of your hire car and take them to the thrilling and fun-packed Raging Waters water park inside Lake Cunningham Regional Park. Let them cool off of from the Californian sun and release all their boisterous energy in the tidal pool and see if they're brave enough to take to the fast water slides. There's an exciting water fort for added thrills, too.
