    Skip the rental counter lines and check in directly by using Alamo's touch-screen kiosk. Check-in using the kiosk and a receipt-sized rental agreement is printed. You'll be directed to your hire car on the lot. At the exit booth, show the booth agent your rental agreement and driving licence—and simply drive away.

    In order to take advantage of this optional free service, you'll need to activate Accelerated Check-In online then choose the "Skip the Counter" option. You will be required to confirm your protection options, agree to the Rental Agreement Terms & Conditions and enter valid credit card details (there will be no charge until you return your vehicle). Simply print your rental agreement to bring with you, and you are all set! Go directly to your car, show the booth agent your rental agreement and driving licence—and get on the road!

Rental Policies

  • Additional drivers- there is an additional charge of 7 Euros per day for each authorised additional driver. Additional drivers must be present at the time of rental.
  • ALL DRIVERS MUST HAVE BEEN ELIGIBLE TO HOLD A LICENCE FOR EIGHT YEARS FOR A-F CLASS VEHICLES.
  • Vehicles cannot be taken out of Ireland. Cross border is permitted to Northern Ireland. No additional documents are required, however, a Northern Ireland AAA Cover charge of EUR 30.00 + tax per rental will apply. Advance notice required at time of reservation for cross border.
  • Alamo rent-a-car provides damage waiver -DW- which reduces the costs associated with damage to and-or theft of the Alamo vehicle subject to the terms and conditions of your rental agreement. Damage and theft responsibility is the full value of the vehicle. Damage waiver may be mandatory and included in the quote. Customers who can provide independent and verified provision to cover damage and theft to the Alamo vehicle may be able to decline DW. The DW amount for this branch is 19.62 euros plus vat per day
  • Domestic One-Way rentals are permitted between all locations in Ireland and cost EUR 60.00 + tax except for the following: For all One-Ways FROM Kerry Airport and Knock Airport (but not vice versa), the drop charge is EUR 75.00 + tax (One-Ways to Kerry Apt and Knock Apt are EUR 60.00 + tax). One-Ways FROM Dublin Airport to Dublin city are free of charge, however FROM Dublin City to Dublin Airport the charge is EUR 30.00 + tax. One-Ways between Shannon Airport and Limerick city are free of charge. There is no minimum rental length. Domestic One-Ways must be pre-booked. Available for all car groups. International One-Ways are allowed to Northern Ireland (Belfast locations only) and cost EUR 130.00 + tax. There is no minimum length of rental required. No other international One-Ways are allowed.
  • IN THE EVENT OF DAMAGE AND OR THEFT, AN EXCESS IS APPLICABLE WHICH VARIES DEPENDING ON VEHICLE TYPE AND LOCATION. EXCESS PROTECTION WILL COVER UP TO 1500 EUR OF ANY DAMAGE, SUBJECT TO TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE RENTAL AGREEMENT. IF PURCHASED IN ADDITION TO DW, THE CUSTOMER CAN REDUCE OR ELIMINATE POSSIBLE FINANCIAL EXPOSURE CAUSED BY LOSS OR DAMAGE TO THE ALAMO VEHICLE. THE EP AMOUNT FOR THIS BRANCH IS 14.10 EUROS PLUS VAT PER DAY FOR CLASS A-C VEHICLES AND 15.86 EUROS PLUS VAT PER DAY FOR CLASS F VEHICLES AND ABOVE AND FOR ALL AUTOMATICS.
  • All vehicles are given to clients full of fuel at the start of the rental. A fuel deposit is charged to the client at the start of the rental. The fuel deposit depends on the tank size of the specific vehicle and ranges from Euro 65 + tax for the smallest vehicle to Euro 130 + tax for the largest vehicles. We offer clients two options when returning the vehicle. (1) The client returns the vehicles without refuelling - avoiding the necessity to find a petrol station before returning the vehicle. There is no refund for unused fuel. (2) The client returns the vehicle full of fuel and receives a full fuel refund. If option (2) is chosen clients are required to refuel the vehicle within 5 kms of the return hire station. Proof of fuel purchase in the form of a fuel receipt may be required to be produced at the return location.
  • A-E VEHICLES CARRY AN EXCESS OF 1600 EUROS, WHICH CAN BE REDUCED TO 100 EUROS. FOR F CLASS, MPVS AND VANS THE EXCESS IS 1750 EUROS, WHICH MAY BE REDUCED TO 250 EUROS. FOR SMALL PREMIUMS THE EXCESS IS 2000 EUROS, WHICH MAY BE REDUCED TO 500 EUROS. WHERE DW IS NOT INCLUDED IN YOUR RATE, IT CAN BE PURCHASED AT THE BRANCH WITH AN EXCESS OF 1750 EUROS, WHICH CAN BE REDUCED TO 250 EUROS.
  • All drivers must be in possession of a full-unendorsed driver's license at the time of rental. (Certain minor endorsements may be acceptable, please contact us prior to making reservation). All drivers must have held a full driver's license for at least 12 months prior to hiring a car and must present themselves with their full-unendorsed driver's license at the pick up location at the time of rental. Minimum drivers age for all rentals is 25 years at time of collection. Holders of US, Canadian, Australian and All EU member states are NOT required to supply an International Driving License (IDL). An International Driving License (IDL) is required if your national driver's license is not in Roman script. International driver's licenses MUST BE accompanied by the original domestic license of the driver. (This is clearly stated on the international license).
  • Mileage- all vehicles include unlimited mileage
  • Vat- the vat charge on vans and rentals lasting more than 35 days will be 23 percent. For vehicles travelling to the U.K., there is an additional charge of 150 Euros plus vat. Please call the branch in advance. Customers wishing to return the car to a different location will be subject to an additional charge.
  • Unless required under the terms of your account, Renter must pay for the full rental charges plus a deposit of 350 EUR at the time of the hire using a major credit card in their own name. Renter must continue to pay additional rental charges in advance and maintain the deposit of 350 EUR for the duration of the hire.
  • Alamo offers roadside assistance protection - rap. Rap allows Alamo customers to waive all financial responsibility for the following - tire and glass repair or replacement costs, except when part of a larger repair, replacement keys costs, and all recovery and call out charges imposed by our chosen roadside assistance providers as result of a fault caused by renter error. Rap does not exempt you from these charges if there is any breach of our rental agreement. The price of rap is 4.40 Euro plus vat per day.
  • DOCUMENTATION- ALL DRIVERS MUST PRODUCE ALL PARTS OF A VALID DRIVING LICENCE. NON-EU LICENCE HOLDERS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE AN INTERNATIONAL DRIVING PERMIT IF THE LICENCE IS NOT IN ENGLISH. INTERNATIONAL TRAVELLERS MUST PRODUCE A PASSPORT, PROOF OF RETURN TRAVEL AND RESIDENCY INFORMATION WHILE IN IRELAND. DOMESTIC RENTERS MUST PRODUCE PHOTO ID – PASSPORT OR DRIVING LICENCE. FOR ALL DRIVERS, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REQUEST ADDITIONAL ID OR CONDUCT FURTHER ID CHECKS. THESE MAY INCLUDE ID CHECKS WITH EXTERNAL PARTNERS WHO MAY VERIFY SUPPLIED DETAILS AGAINST DATABASES TO WHICH THEY HAVE ACCESS.
