Renting an Alamo hire car to pick up in Brazil is hassle-free, and you have the opportunity to select a model to meet you and your family or party's needs. It's the most convenient and economical way to travel while you are enjoying your holiday.
The fifth largest country in the world, Brazil, is a place with seemingly endless landscapes to explore, from the jungles of the Amazon to the great Araucaria pine forest of the south, the mountains of the west and the great tumbling rivers that flow down to the ocean. With stunning beaches along its coastline, it also boasts rugged highlands, vast plateaus and verdant, rolling hills. On any serious trip to Brazil, car hire is a must, though it's difficult to explore more than a fraction of this marvellous landscape on any one occasion.
Among the best places to drive in Brazil is the Transpantaneira, which runs through the state of Mato Grosso. Winding through meadows and swampland, it's unrivalled as a route from which to spot wildlife, with monkeys, jaguars and alligators all present in the area. Meanwhile, the Serra do Rio do Rastro Road, snaking through the mountains of Santa Catarina, provides what are perhaps the most dramatic views in the country, sometimes reaching an altitude where you can find snow.
Approaching Rio de Janeiro, Brazil's largest city, driving across the Rio-Niterói Bridge is a must. It offers clear, expansive views of the city and the famous mountains overlooking it, with the statue of Christ. If you've already spent time in the crowded city streets, it feels wonderful to drive out over the clear blue water.
The quality of Brazil's roads is very good, among the best in South America, but in cities such as Rio de Janeiro, there are not enough roads to cope with the traffic, so visitors may prefer to do most of their driving in rural areas. Animals wandering onto the road can be a problem in both contexts, so drivers need to watch their speed and exercise caution. Many people prefer to avoid driving at night.
When you arrange car rental in Brazil, you should discuss where you plan to go and make sure you have a suitable vehicle. Outside the cities, the standard speed limit is 110kph (68mph).
This is a wonderful country for long drives, so make the most of it!
